It’s been a while since the previous post, but we have not been idle. Well, we have been working up a sweat on the Decidim and We Explain the Law projects, together with the partner companies involved.
For some time we have been implementing the Polish version of Decidim, a comprehensive platform for supporting civil society. Our test version is already being used during a pilot in MRM Bytom in cooperation with FEIS (Foundation for European Initiatives in Silesia). The pilot is being conducted as part of the Demokr@cja project, funded by the European Union. We also plan to launch a nationwide version so that we can discuss Polish law with citizens. However, we need to adjust the Decidim portal a bit to meet our requirements, which we have taken for ourselves to effectively support citizen initiatives.
The installation of Decidim, as well as its extensions, is thanks to another Polish company that cooperates with us. This has greatly accelerated the work on the implementation of Decidim. We very much appreciate such a form of support and are extremely happy that they decided to support our foundation!
The second project we are still working on is We Explain the Law, which is a website (web application) where citizens will be able to search for a piece of legislation they are interested in, read explanations of laws in the form of questions and answers, in an accessible form and generated by AI. On top of that, we are planning chat functionality with artificial intelligence so that users can deepen their knowledge of selected laws.
Work on the backend (using artificial intelligence) is almost complete. We have also established cooperation with the company responsible for implementing the frontend (i.e., the browser part), which will launch its activities from the beginning of this month. There is really not much left until the solution is published. A big thank you goes to the companies involved in setting up the project!
Another highlight is the addition of Mateusz Lejczak to the foundation’s board of directors in the role of vice president. Here’s what Mateusz has to say:
“There are no coincidences in the world and nothing happens without a cause. I was connected with Rafal, the president of the Future Democracy Foundation, through my work at another public benefit organization, where we met and, thanks to the founder, we started working together. In the midst of the many responsibilities I have on a daily basis, I am happy to support Rafal by giving a different perspective and also taking over some responsibilities. I believe in the goal of the Foundation and in a society that actively legislates and is involved in the bigger picture.”
Stay tuned and keep an eye on our Facebook page, where we will be uploading fresh information. We are already close to the goal!
